Who we are
RecAura is a specialist Recruitment-to-Recruitment consultancy based in the North West and working UK-wide. We are the data controller for the personal data described here.
For anything about your data, email [email protected].
What we collect, and when
We only hold personal data that reaches us in one of three ways.
- You contact us. When you send an enquiry through this website we record your name, email address, anything you choose to tell us in the message, and the fact that you approached us.
- You apply for a role. We record your name, email address, any covering note, and which role you applied for. We do not ask for your CV through this website — we ask for it when we reply, so you can send the version you want us to see.
- We find you professionally. If we approach you about a role, we record where we found you — for example a public LinkedIn profile, a company website, or an introduction from someone you know — and we tell you that when we contact you.
We do not buy contact lists, we do not scrape profiles automatically, and we do not track you across other websites. This site sets no advertising or analytics cookies.
Why we hold it
To have a conversation with you about your career or your hiring, and to keep an accurate record of that conversation. Where you have approached us, we rely on taking steps at your request. Where we have approached you about a role we think genuinely fits, we rely on our legitimate interest in recruitment — balanced against your interests, which in practice means we keep contact proportionate and we stop when asked.
We record where every contact came from before anyone is approached, and outreach is blocked in our own systems until that is recorded.
Who sees it
Sara, and anyone working with her at RecAura under the same obligations. We share your details with a client only with your knowledge, and never speculatively.
Our systems run on Microsoft 365 for email and on servers in the UK and EU. Those providers process data on our instructions and for no purpose of their own.
How long we keep it
For as long as it is useful to the conversation, and no longer. We review records that have had no meaningful contact for a long period and delete or anonymise what we no longer need. Nothing is deleted automatically without a person deciding — and if you ask us to remove your record, that is a decision we make promptly and record.
Your rights
You can ask us for a copy of what we hold, ask us to correct it, ask us to delete it, ask us to restrict what we do with it, or object to us holding it at all. You can also ask us to stop contacting you, and we will add you to a suppression list so that you are recognised and left alone even if your details reach us again later.
Email [email protected] and we will respond within one month.
If you are not satisfied with how we have handled it, you can complain to the Information Commissioner’s Office at ico.org.uk.
Changes
If we change how we handle personal data we will update this page and change the date at the top.
